Contemplation

Contemplation

What I have shared with you during this two-part message in Ephesians 1:15-19a has been nothing more than my own discoveries in research and meditation on those passages. Now it’s your turn. Set aside some time to read and contemplate Paul’s prayer for his Ephesian brothers and sisters. Consider his words to be directed toward you. Write down the key words and take them along with you reviewing them throughout the day. And finally, record your discoveries and be brave enough to share them with your Harvest Group, or in the reply section following this blog. I would love to learn what the Holy Spirit reveals to you during your time of contemplation.

Ephesians 1:15-19a

“For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints, do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your hearts being enlightened; that you may know what is:

  1.  The hope of His calling
  2. The riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints
  3. The surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe …”

I’m reflecting on the hope of his calling. Years ago I went from one job to another job and my mom was discouraged. Don’t forget back then in the 50s people got a job and stayed in that job for life. I remember making peace with the fact that because I am an evangelist the Lord has set a pattern in my life where he moves me approximately every three years from job to job. He enlarges my circle (tent pegs) and I am able to share Christ in those places. LOL actually I’m a person that thrives on variety. I get bored easily so this suits me just fine! my point in saying all this is that if there’s any of you out there that are feeling unrest just ask the Lord to confirm up what your calling is. We all have been given certain social circles that he puts us in for us to witness Christ in those places. As long as we faithfully do that we can thank him and praise him for reassuring us and confirming that as the hope of his calling in our lives .

  2. How precious is it that Paul would pray this prayer for believers and that God so graciously answers it. The Lord gives us spiritual wisdom and understanding each time He allows us to pass through a trial. He always reveals a truth, shows his grace and his faithfulness to us. Our hope is in Him and his power and the more we know him and his character the more wisdom and understanding we have. I know He is faithful and I know He is utterly reliable

  3. PAUL WANTED THE PEOPLE TO NO THAT JESUS IS COMING BACK WE NO TH AT JESUS IS COMING BACK TO TAKE US HOME TO HEAVEN I WILL BE HAPPY WHEN JESUS COMES AND TAKE US HOME TO HEAVEN
