One of the most impressive remains of Pergamum is the theatre, which could accommodate 10,000 people. Its setting makes it one of the most visually stunning theatres of the ancient world.
Temple of Trajan – Pergamos
The temple of Trajan is the only Roman part of the site which remains, the Hellenistic buildings being leveled in order to construct it. It is probable that it was erected for the emperor Trajan by his successor, Hadrian, between 117 and 138 AD and served as a place of worship for both emperors.
