It was late in 1989 or early 1990 that I accepted Christ and became a believer.  My friend Ed Angel would speak often and the gospel given clearly by him and through tapes he acquired through his pastor. I would think how strange it was that I grew up going to Sunday school (and later, church service) in a Congregational church and never once heard that Jesus died for our (my) sins?

Anyway, for me to give an exact date of my spiritual birth would be hard to do- but I’m sure that it DID happen and my spiritual journey has been an ongoing process for many years now. Jesus has been revealing more of Himself – and more of me as well. Philippians 1:6: “And I am sure of this that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”

The more that is revealed of me only reinforces my (our) desperate need for a savior who is Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12: “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Maturity in the faith came in time, albeit slowly.  Reading and studying sometimes took a backseat to the worldly pressures and the enemy at work. I was very blessed to sit under solid teachers in two separate churches before first attending Harvest Community in 2011.

My wife Peggy and I have now been at Harvest for over 14 years and are truly blessed by the teaching of Pastors Gene Giguere and Steve Martel as well as Harvest’s assembly of believers.

I also have been blessed (and humbled) to serve our assembly as a deacon and also as part of the worship team. Serving with each of these men and women has been enriching to me in my walk with the Lord.
