‘First impressions are …,’ well, you know the saying!
Greeters are usually the first people the congregation encounters as they enter the Church. Often weary from a week’s work and many troubles, a Greeter’s warm welcome and smile can make all the difference!
Church is where brothers and sisters come to ‘put things in perspective’ – to leave the foolishness and the cares of the world outside, and to be reminded of bigger things inside!
Encountering a Greeter is the first step we take as we enter into the fellowship of the saints and the worship of the Lord.
Led by Deacon Bob vonHein, Harvest is served by a team of wonderfully-gifted and optimistic Greeters who welcome the flock joyfully.
One of our Greeters, Jim Huling writes: “I have been a member of Harvest Community Church for two years and have been a Greeter for about six months. I love being a Greeter. By being a Greeter I get to engage with friends and acquaintances (future friends). But most of all, I love being the face of Harvest Community Church for that one hour. And meeting new visitors is so satisfying! It’s exciting that they took a chance and tried our Church. Being a Greeter is the first opportunity people have to see why members of Harvest love our church.”
That sums it up well! The importance of a Greeter’s Ministry cannot be overestimated – and Harvest is blessed to have the best!
