This ministry team meets every Thursday from 11:00 am to around 3:00 pm to visit the homeless encampments and shelters around the city. We provide for physical needs (food, clothing, toiletries) as well as spiritual needs (sharing the Gospel, prayer, and encouragement).

The team meets with Woonsocket mayor Christopher Beauchamp.

It began as a simple desire by two hearts enjoined by the Holy Spirit to do something to make a difference in our city. Neither person knew that the other was entertaining the same thoughts. Then it all came together! What started as a 4-member team for two weeks, quickly became a 15+ member team.

Meeting physical needs is easy; earning a hearing for the gospel takes some extra effort. We know that relationship, consistency, and building trust are invaluable to what we do.

God, “who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20) has flung open many doors.

The Encampment Ministry team partners with another church for a coat drive for the homeless.

Each week, folks share stories, ask for prayer, and request Bibles! We are following the leading of the Holy Spirit, obedient to Jesus’ call to care for the less fortunate, and we are abundantly blessed by God to continue!
